RIBO Accredited Safe Computing Made Easy Course Brought to Independent Financial Brokers Spring 2010 Summit

Qualifies against the continuing education requirements of the Registered Insurance Brokers of Canada (RIBO) 



Toronto, Ontario – May 21, 2010 – The Independent Financial Brokers of Canada (IFB) has confirmed that the course being presented by Larry Keating, president and CEO of No Panic Computing, entitled "Safe computing made easy for the financial professional.   Are you putting your time, business and reputation at risk?” qualifies against the continuing education requirements of the Registered Insurance Brokers of Canada (RIBO).  The course will be conducted twice at the IFB 2010 Toronto Spring Summit being held at the Toronto Congress Center on June 1-2, 2010. 

The course, tailored to the computing needs of independent financial professionals, covers the need and understanding of secure data backup, anti-malware software, passwords, biometrics, encryption and other elements of safe computing. 

Mr. Keating has served as former founding chairman of the Ministers’ Technology Advisory Group for the Province of Ontario; former member of the Chair’s Advisory Council on e-Government for the Province of Ontario and currently serves as a technical advisor to the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario for the Aboriginal Computer Literacy Program. 

Independent Financial Brokers is a not-for-profit association representing independent insurance, mutual fund and other financial service professionals.  IFB members are 'independent', therefore they do not work exclusively for one company, and are able to sell the products and services of two or more companies.

The Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO) is the self-regulatory body for insurance brokers in Ontario.
